Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the studio's success, its talented performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected 7 awards throughout the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by experts.
