Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
