The Red Devils Poised to Secure Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for United
The forward, with six months remaining on her deal, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League team.
Her exit from Bayern has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the club's supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top strikers. According to reports, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed.
Consistent Goalscoring to Boost United's Forward Line
The experienced striker's signing is expected to provide a significant boost to the team's attacking options. Schüller has been highly reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when United appear to be building positive momentum.

- The contract extension for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official commented: “Miyazawa is now a vital component to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and technical ability allows her and the team to dominate play from the middle of the park.”
Lundkvist, who has arrived from a side from the American league, added: “You can sense how much the club have progressed in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
